Last month, Netflix announced a partnership with Mattel and Hasbro for the creation of a full portfolio of toys, collectibles, games, role-play products, and more inspired by the hit film KPop Demon Hunters.
The CG-animated musical action film was first released on Netflix back in June, and quickly blew up in popularity. By late August, just two months after its release, KPop Demon Hunters had become the most-watched original film on Netflix ever.
Unaware that the film would become the global cultural phenomenon that it is now, Netflix has been scrambling to capitalize on its popularity with merchandise, toys, games, and more. Mattel is now tasked with marketing and developing a full range of KPop Demon Hunters-themed products across multiple categories, including "dolls, action figures, accessories, collectibles, playsets, collaborations with co-brands, and more."
Unfortunately, the late partnership means these toys won't begin worldwide distribution until 2026. However, Mattel has already introduced a presale three-pack of HUNTR/X dolls, and on social media, the toy company has now shared a first look at what these dolls could look like.
The Mattel Creations Facebook page announced the official KPop Demon Hunters partnership news, sharing a first look at the highly anticipated dolls, fashion, and accessories that are on the way. The images are our first look at what the Rumi, Mira, and Zoey colls could look like; however, it's worth noting that these images are design prototypes and that the final design, colors, and textures may vary.
The initial images depict the three characters in their "What It Sounds Like" outfits, though this isn't necessarily the only version that will be available. We can probably expect dolls and outfits also inspired by their wardrobe during the "Golden" and "How It's Done" songs.
You’ll also notice that Rumi’s patterns are visible on her arms and legs. Someone pointed out that Mattel has previously used color-changing technology in its Barbie dolls. It’s possible that a similar feature could be used for Rumi—revealing her patterns with warm water, for example. While her markings are already visible in this outfit, the feature could be especially fun if Mattel releases dolls based on her looks from other songs.
Mattel will begin taking pre-orders for the three-pack of HUNTR/X dolls on November 12, 2025, through its Mattel Creations website. Orders won't ship until 2026, though. It has already been confirmed that the Mattel and Hasbro products will be available at retail beginning in Spring 2026 through the 2026 holiday season and beyond.
