Back in December of last year, we heard rumors that LEGO is developing new sets based on the hit Netflix movie KPop Demon Hunters. Details were scarce at the time with the rumors only mentioning that the set would include the controversial LEGO minidolls as opposed to the traditional minifigures.
Nothing official has been announced yet, but new information on these rumored sets have now surfaced. According to the latest reports, there are at least two KPop Demon Hunters LEGO sets on the way.
The first set, #72537, will be a display set of Derpy and Sussie, the two supernatural animal characters. For those unfamiliar with the movie, Derpy is a supernatural tiger with bright blue fur and a goofy, wide-eyed look, while Sussie is a supernatural magpie with a tiny hat. As a display set, this will seemingly be geared more towards adults and collectors. It will reportedly consist of 825 pieces and cost $69.99.
For a movie geared towards kids, it feels a bit odd that the first KPop Demon Hunters set will be one meant for display; however, the rumors suggest a play themed set is coming in 2027. There are absolutely no details on this one other than the set number, #72538. but it's possible this could be the one that includes the minidolls — presumably of Huntr/x. No information about the number of pieces or price were included.
KPop Demon Hunters was released on Netflix in June 2025 and became an unexpected hit. It became Netflix's most-watched film of all time with over 236 million global views. Its soundtrack smashed charts with "Golden" topping the Billboard Hot 100.
In addition to glowing reviews from critics and fans alike, the film received numerous major awards. It earned multiple Grammy nominations, including Best Song of the Year ("Golden"), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Golden”), Best Remixed Recording (“Golden” remix), Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media (entire soundtrack), and Best Song Written for Visual Media (“Golden”), which it won.
Unfortunately, because Netflix never expected the movie to blow up in the way that it did, there wasn't a whole ton of merchandise available. Only recently have Netflix and Sony ramped up their efforts, striking master toy partnerships with Mattel and Hasbro. Many of these toys and products aren't expected to be released until later this year.
As there's been no formal announcement for KPop Demon Hunters LEGO, we expect these sets won't be released until 2027 at the earliest.
