Based on the popular animated series of the 1980s, a movie adaptation of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is in the works. A new report has revealed when we should expect the Sony film to arrive in theatres (and it seems that we've got quite a long wait ahead of us).
A recent report by Variety has revealed that Sony's Masters of the Universe movie is set to release in two years time. The specific date given is March 5th, 2021.
The original Mattel toyline and animated series followed Prince Adam who wielded a magic sword which, when held aloft, would harness "The Power of Grayskull!" and transform him into He-Man: the most powerful man in the universe. He-Man would battle the villainous Skeletor with the help of his allies Teela, Man-at-Arms, Orko and The Sorceress.
Masters of the Universe will be directed by Aaron and Adam Nee (Band of Robbers). Its script has been written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the duo responsible for Iron Man's script as well as the upcoming Men in Black: International film.
Earlier this month, Noah Centineo confirmed that he would be starring in Masters of the Universe as He-Man. You can find out more on that here. Thus far, Centineo is the only actor attached to the project.
Masters of the Universe is set to release in theatres on March 5th, 2021.
