Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series may be a sequel 40 years in the making, but it's got all of the heart and energy of the 1983 original. Netflix debut the official teaser for the upcoming series, of which Smith serves as showrunner and executive producer, and it looks like we're in for quite a ride.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation picks up where the 80's series left off. The synopsis teases:

"After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe,"

Masters of the Universe: Revelation features a star-studded cast that includes Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Tella, Chris Wood as Prince Adam/He-Man, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, and Tiffany Smith as Andra. Other longtime collaborators with Smith who are also set to appear in the series include Jason Mewes as Stinkor, Kevin Conroy as Merman, Phil LaMarr as He-Ro, and more!

Masters of the Universe: Revelation consists of 10 episodes with the five-episode Part 1 debuting on Netflix on Friday, July 23. Debuting alongside it on July 23 will be the accompanying series Revelations: The Masters of the Universe Revelation Aftershow. Hosted by series creator Kevin Smith, actress Tiffany Smith, and VP of Mattell Television Rob David, this series will likely break down each episode and celebrate all things Masters of the Universe.
