Although it looks as if The Legend of Vox Machina will soon be coming to an end, fans of Crtiical Role's animated Dungeons and Dragons campaigns will soon have a new series to sink their teeth into, as The Mighty Nein is set to debut on Prime Video this November.
Whereas The Legend of Vox Machina is an adaptation of Critical Role's first Dungeons & Dragons campaign, The Mighty Nein is an adaptation of their second campaign.
The Mighty Nein, set in the same world of Exandria, unfolds on the distant continent of Wildemount and takes place several years after the events of The Legend of Vox Machina.
While the new series introduces a fresh cast of characters and storylines, showrunner Tasha Huo hinted at San Diego Comic-Con that fans can expect subtle nods to Vox Machina’s legendary adventures woven throughout the narrative as The Mighty Nein moves forward.
"We want to make sure that everyone understands those two stories do happen in the same world at the same time, even though they're separated by, I think, 20 years," Huo told EW.
During a San Diego Comic-Con panel, a new sneak peek at the series was released.
Also during the SDCC panel, a number of exciting guest voice actors were also announced, which you can check out below.
Guest stars will include Mark Strong, Alan Cumming, Tim McGraw, Ming-Na Wen, Auliʻi Cravalho, Anika Noni Rose, Rahul Kohli, Robbie Daymond, and Jonathan Frakes.
"Not to spoil anything for the audience, but all of your favorite gags, all of your favorite inside jokes and weird things that happened during the Campaign 2 live-play, we love those things too, and we're going to try to preserve as many of those as possible," Critical Role's Sam Riegel, an actor and executive producer told EW.
"I won't say how and when that joke is made, but if you loved it in the campaign, I guarantee it will make an appearance in the animated series."
Which is it - The Mighty Nein or The Sensual Seven? Whatever it is, looks like it comes exclusively to Prime Video on November 19th!
