Last month, Netflix shared a batch of images from the upcoming animated film Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie. This week, the streaming service finally debuted the official trailer, and there's no shortage of action.
Up until now, we've only had a brief synopsis that teased the arrival of a mysterious stranger from the future who comes with a dire warning. Now we know that stranger is none other than Casey Jones, and he's warning the Turtles of the impending alien invasion by the Krangs.
Although the turtles have lost their mystic powers, they still have one secret weapon: hope. Will that be enough to save the world from the Krangs? We'll find out when Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie debuts on Netflix on August 5.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in action and up to their teenage antics in this comedic adventure that raises the stakes higher than ever before.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie is a feature film continuation of the 2D animated series that aired on Nickelodeon from July 2018 to August 20. The series ran for two seasons and saw the titular heroes battle an assortment of enemies, including Baron Draxum, the Foot Clan, and Shredder. But now they face their greatest challenge yet.
The original voice cast is returning for their roles, including Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog) as Leonardo, Omar Benson Miller as Raphael, Brandon Mychal Smith as Michelangelo, Josh Brener as Donatello, Kat Graham as April O'Neil, and Eric Bauza as Splinter. And remember that undisclosed role voiced by Haley Joel Osment? It was confirmed he will be the voice of Casey Jones in the film.
