Since the release of KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix, there's been no shortage of prouct ideas submitted to LEGO by fans of the movie. So far, nothing official has been announced, but a new rumor claims that official LEGO inspired by the hit animated film are in the works.

Rumors come by way of a Brick Tap source but are light on specifics. The only detail specifically mentioned is that this collaboration will include minidolls, a somewhat controversial design style opposite the classic LEGO minifigure. As opposed to the standard blocky minifigures used across most LEGO themes, minidolls are taller, slimmer, and feature more realistic propotions.

Minidolls, which were introduced in 2012 as part of the LEGO Friends line, are more "doll-like" and considered to be primarily aimed toward girls, emphasizing character detail and fashion over minifigs imagination and interchangeability. This, of course, came with its own pushback from LEGO fans who have argued that minidolls are not compatibile with traditional sets and negatively reinforce cliches and stereotypes about what girls should play it.

While KPop Demon Hunters certainly has a large, diverse audience across the globe, there's no doubt it geared primarily towards girls, so it makes sense that LEGO would go the minidoll route as opposed to the traditional minifigure. After all, the minidoll, even while controversal, has been developed with the female audience in mind.

The rumor has been met with mixed reaction online, and really it just comes down to preference. Although I personally prefer traditional minifigures, I can see why LEGO would go this route.

Minidoll controversy aside, we're still left with so many questions after this exciting rumor. How big will it be? Is it just going to be primarily HUNTR/X, and if so, which outfits? Will it come with any sort of backdrop?

We're also not sure when this rumored LEGO KPop Demon Hunters collaboration will release, and if it will be a single set or a whole line of sets at launch.

No release date was mentioned, which makes sense as it's still likely very early in the development phase. As we're seeing with most newly announced partnerships with the Netflix film, officially branded toys and merchandise for KPop Demon Hunters are set to release throughout 2026 and beyond. Both Mattel and Hasbro will launch their respective portfolio of products in 2026, as will the recently announced Funko Pop! collection. Here's hoping the LEGO KPop Demon Hunters, if real, will also be ready by next year.

What are you hoping to see from LEGO KPop Demon Hunters, and how do you feel about the rumored minidolls instead of minifigures?
