Disenchantment, the animated fantasy-comedy from Matt Groening, has returned. Part 3 (or Season 3) of the edgy cartoon series continues the misadventures of Princess Bean, Elfo, and Luci in the medieval realm of Dreamland. It's a welcome return for the series, which saw no new episodes released in 2020 due to the global pandemic.
After a shaky beginning to the series, Disenchantment found its footing with Part 2 as the character and world-building of Dreamland started to become more fully realized. Based on the synopsis and trailer for Part 3, it looks like there's still plenty of mystery and nefarious plots to be uncovered.
Bean must step up her princess game amid royal plots, deepening mysteries, King Zøg's increasing instability and concerns about who will rule Dreamland.
As we see in the trailer, Bean will travel to Steamland (Steamworks), a kingdom that's driven by science and technology. But as we learn, there's a power in Dreamland that is more powerful than anything science can build. Sinister plots and hilarious hijinks await in Part 3 of Disenchantment. All ten episodes in the current season are now streaming.
Disenchantment is slowly growing to become one of Netflix's top animated comedies, which was to be expected given who's behind the project: Matt Groening, who created both The Simpsons and Futurama. The series stars Abii Jacobson as Bean, Eric Andre as Luci (Bean's personal demon), Nat Faxon as Elfo (an 18-year old Elf from Elfwood), John DiMaggio as King Zøg and Tress MacNeille as Queen Oona.
