Over the past couple of years, Disney Lorcana has grown both as a trading card game and as a collectible card game. Now, Ravensburger is leaning even further into the collecting side of the hobby with the introduction of premium Collector Boosters.
Announced at D23 Expo this week, Collector Boosters will officially make their Disney Lorcana debut in 2027 alongside Into the Inkdark, the game's 15th set. Unlike standard booster packs, these are new premium packs designed specifically with collectors in mind. They will include 12 randomized premium foil cards, each with a special foil treatment, and offer a greater chance at higher rarity cards.
Ravensburger was certain to make clear that these new Collector Boosters will not impact the standard Disney Lorcana TCG booster packs, so you should still be able to enjoy the game if you aren't interested in the rarity chase.
Pricing was not revealed, but the Collector Booster and Collector Booster Display Boxes will be limited in quantity. They'll also only be available for purchase at Ravensburger Play Hub stores, the Ravensburger Online Store, and select Disney locations. I loathe the release at Disney locations. As we saw with the Curator's Collection: Heroines Edition, it can turn into an absolute madhouse at places like Disney Springes in Disney World.
As the name suggests, Into the Inkdark will put the spotlight on a Disney's villains, including Hades.
"He is hatching an evil plan, so it’s up to players to squash his schemes, while exploring the environment and discovering the Dark Illuminary," Ravensburger teased.
While Hades appears to be the main focus, the first card revealed from this set was Maleficent - Biding Her Time. The reveal actually showcased a new card classification: Illustrious. These are incredibly rare cards that give notable card artists more freedom to showcase their own style and interpretation.
