Nickelodeon is building up the Baby Shark portfolio with a TV film under its belt centered around the internet sensation. The flick is set to be co-produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio alongside SmartStudy, the owner of the Pinkfong brand, which breathed life into the iconic video.
Very little is known about the film as it's yet to find a definitive home and its name is yet to be revealed. It wasn't that long ago that the IP was nothing but dust, however, in 2016, Pinkfong released the now-famous (or infamous depending on who you ask) video displaying kids dancing along to the song in front of a green screen sea.
This isn't Nickelodeon's first run-in with the Pinkfong brand, however, as the channel also formulated a TV show last year. With that said, the news of this film, however, isn't the only piece of Baby Shark news as Nickelodeon has also decided to renew Baby Shark's Big Show, which nabbed them a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Casting for a Daytime Animated Program category, for another season. This new season totals up to 26 episodes spanning 30-or-so-minutes. The show hasn't even completed Season 1 yet, with new episodes set to airing frequently on Fridays during the summer.
The iconic video has amassed over nine billion views worldwide, making it the most-viewed YouTube video out there and as such, not shocking that Nickelodeon would want to keep the brand's popularity and presence up.
