The official Dreamworks Animation Twitter account has released a brand new trailer for its first television series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Check it out below along with a new poster for the series.
The Jurassic Park franchise returned in a big way with 2015's Jurassic World following a 14 year hibernation. That film went on to gross a staggering $1.67 billion at the global box office. The next entry in the film series, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom saw a slight dip at the box office, taking in $1.3 billion. However, it was unilaterally panned by film critics, earning a 47% Rotten Tomatoes aggregate score, a sharp decline from the 2015 entry's 70% rating.
And just as the third entry in the new film trilogy is looking to recapture the magic of Jurassic World, the franchise's first foray into television is looking to do the same. The computer-animated, sci-fi series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will be set during the events of the 2015 film, where six teenagers become stranded after dinosaurs escape on the fictional island of Isla Nublar.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will begin streaming on Netflix on September 18, 2020.
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. But when dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are stranded. Unable to reach the outside world, they’ll need to go from strangers to friends to family if they’re going to survive.
