With My Dad The Bounty Hunter ready for launch on Netflix next month, the streaming service has shared the official trailer for the upcoming CG-animated series. Created by Academy Award-winning director Everett Downing (Maya and the Three, Hair Love), My Dad The Bounty Hunter is a family-friendly action adventure about an intergalactic bounty hunter whose kids get caught up with him on a dangerous mission.
My Dad The Bounty Hunter stars Laz Alonso as the voice of Terry, a father of two with a secret job as an intergalactic bounty hunter. With his family back on Earth unaware of what he does for a living, his two children accidentally hitch a ride with him to work.
They soon discover that their seemingly average dad is actually the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy, Sabo Brok. The trio embarks on a space-faring adventure across the galaxy as Sabo Brok is tasked with capturing his toughest fugitive yet. As the trailer alludes, however, there may be more to this fugitive than Sabo is aware of. And with the help of his children, he may soon discover some larger secrets looming.

My Dad The Bounty Hunter stars Laz Alonso (The Boys), Yvonne Orji (Insecure), Priah Ferguson (Stranger Things), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), JeCobi Swain (Troop Zero), Leslie Uggams (Deadpool), Rob Riggle (The Hangover) and Jim Rash (Community). Everett Downing and Patrick Harpin serve as creators and executive producers, with the animation done by Dwarf Animation Studio.
When the series was first announced back in 2020, Downing described My Dad The Bounty Hunter as a "love letter to animation, science fiction, and Black families rolled into a crazy action-comedy."
While the trailer shows off more of the action-packed moments of the series, Downing has previously emphasized: "it’s the family at the center of the story that we’re most excited about."
Season 1 of My Dad The Bounty Hunter is set to debut on Netflix on February 9th.
