Netflix has announced that Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Season 5 will debut on the streaming service on July 21. And now for the bit of bad news, Season 5 will serve as the final chapter of the Dreamworks animated series.
Inspired by the Jurassic World franchise, Camp Cretaceous was an animated spinoff following a group of teenage campers who became stranded on Isla Nublar. After four seasons of being trapped, we're all eagerly waiting to find out if they'll finally make it off the island alive.
If you haven't yet watched Season 4, I suggest waiting off on watching the teaser or reading the logline as it contains some spoilers. If you are all caught up, then let's refresh.
Season 4 of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous confirmed that Kenji's dad, Mr. Kon, is head of Mantah Corp., a rival genetics company that has been performing secret tests on dinosaurs on a hidden island. It appears Mr. Kon and Mantah Corp. are returning for the final season and it sounds like it could ruffle some feathers among the group. Additionally, the trailer teases some easter eggs to the movie franchise as well, including a brief glimpse at what appears to be the Barbasol canister from the first Jurassic Park movie.
"The arrival of Kenji's father, Mr. Kon, renews hope of a rescue for the campers. But as the nefarious plans of Mantah Corp. come into focus and one of the Camp Fam turns on their own, the others must band together if they want to save the dinosaurs and ever make it home."
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous returns to Netflix for its fifth and final season on July 21.
