Writer Shion Takeuchi is known for her unique creative writing in animation. She was a major player in the creation and scripts for Gravity Falls and Regular Show, two extremely popular cartoons in the past couple of decades.

Now Takeuchi is set to create her own animated series called Inside Job. The comedy focuses on the lighter side of conspiracy theories and is set to hit Netflix this October.

Inside Job is executively produced by Takeuchi's former Gravity Falls creative, Alex Hirsch. It will feature many of the most well-known conspiracies and explore them in, particularly satirical ways. The series seems to have a similar vibe and animation style to series like The Simpsons and Futurama in the first ten stills released by Netflix included below.

The imagery can be creepy if you focus on the smaller details. For instance, in the above images, we not only see a glimpse at some of the scarier aspects of conspiracies with stills of bodies in tubes along the walls, very Rick and Morty-esque, but also the disturbing smiles and calm faces of those involved in the plot.

The next two stills are a bit more on the funny side, as we see a "rainmaker" machine akin to that in The Truman Show, though there are cups to catch some of the water hilariously.

Following that, we get a glimpse at one of the tropes used most in conspiracy-driven stories - a board with post-it notes and an outrageous amount of string tying together all the pieces of a mystery. The funny bit here is that the notes and string are too much for one board and instead cover the main character's home interior.

In my personal favorite, a still of an older man holding a paper is included, which reads Conspiracies Revealed: How The Elites Keep My Daughter From Texting Me Back - Now on Kindle.

We also get a glimpse at what seems to be at least two alien beings working within the government. The big and ugly one present in other stills is joined here by a purple and blue mushroom-like figure that feels like it hopped right out of a Rick and Morty episode.

To mention the cast, Lizzie Caplan (Cloverfield, The Interview) voices the lead character of Reagan. She is joined by a talented team of voice actors, including Christian Slater, Clark Duke, Tisha Campbell, Will Blagrove, Bobby Lee, Andrew Daly, Brett Gelman, and of course, John DiMaggio.

What do you guys think of Inside Job based on these initial stills? Are you planning to check it out when it hits Netflix? Be sure to check out the remaining stills below, along with the synopsis and release info, and, as always, share your thoughts in the usual spot!

In the world of Inside Job, conspiracies are not merely theories, they are very much part of the reality lived by our colorful cast of strange characters. Striving to keep these conspiracies a secret from the public is not at all an easy job but that’s precisely what our protagonists do as a living at Cognito Inc. In a workplace overrun with reptilian shapeshifters and psychic mushrooms, anti-social geek genius Reagan Ridley is seen by her coworkers as an odd individual for her ingrained belief that the world could be a better place. Reagan believes that her work could make a difference and bring something positive to the table.

However, her job would be way easier if her colleagues remotely shared her ambitions, and especially if she could somehow manage her deranged father and his manifesto-writing compulsions. In the midst of all this chaos, will Reagan be able to achieve the promotion she has dreamt of?

Inside Job begins streaming exclusively on Netflix on October 22nd.
