Though the general public seems increasingly against Disney's insistence to remake all of their animated classics in live-action, it doesn't seem that the train is slowing to a halt anytime soon. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, a live-action remake of
Bambi is in the works.
The animated classic from 1942 follows a young deer named Bambi, a rabbit named Thumper, and a skunk named Flower as they explore the forest. It's believed that the remake of Bambi will make use of the same technology used by the live-action remakes of The Jungle Book and The Lion King.
Captain Marvel writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Chaos Walking writer Lindsey Beer are on-board to pen the film's screenplay. Chris and Paul Weitz produce with Andrew Miano — collectively, they're known as the Depth of Field production banner and are also producing the live-action remake of Pinocchio.
Bambi is one of many live-action remakes that Disney has in the works. Others include The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio (as mentioned above), and Peter Pan & Wendy — among others. Find out more about that last one here.
