Disney's live-action remake of
Peter Pan has been re-titled
Peter Pan & Wendy.
Discussing Film reports that production is moving forward and will commence on April 17th in Canada and is expected to wrap in August.
David Lowery (Pete's Dragon) is attached as director alongside Toby Halbrooks (co-writer of
Pete's Dragon) who penned the most recent draft of the film's script. Jim Whitaker (
A Wrinkle In Time) produces with Joe Roth (
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). It's said that the casting process is currently underway.
The DisInsider recently ascertained some casting information regarding the role of Tiger Lily. The studio is reportedly after a Native American or First Nations actress aged between 18 and 25 to play the teenaged character of Tiger Lily. According to the report, this live-action version of Tiger Lily will be play a more pivotal role than her animated self did. It's also said that she will have a horse sidekick.

"Tiger Lily is indigenous to Neverland with a bow at her back, she is both a fierce warrior and a serene and benevolent leader who protects Neverland and the lost boys and girls from the dastardly Captain Hook. This character will speak in both English and a native language."
