Similar to previous instalments in the beloved animated film series,
Toy Story 4 includes multiple original songs by, Academy Award-winning songwriter and composer, Randy Newman. The musician is responsible for such iconic tunes as "You've Got A Friend in Me," and "We Belong Together." The former of those songs actually features in
Toy Story 4 as well.
As well as at the helm of the film's original songs, Newman is also in charge of the new instalments score. Prior to the film's release,
DisneyMusicVEVO shared one of the new, original songs by Newman: "The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy." This piece was performed by Chris Stapleton and played over the film's credits. You can check that out below.
"I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away" is the second original song on Toy Story 4's soundtrack. This one is both written and performed by Newman. This song features in an early segment of the film in which Woody attempts to thwart Forky's attempts to literally throw himself away. The music video features some new footage of this montage.
Check it out below:
Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
Toy Story 4 is in theatres now.
