Nickelodeon and Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures are teaming up for the next adventure of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Our Heroes in a Half-Shell are getting a CG-animated feature film slated for theaters.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are returning to the big screen, this time in a CG-animated theatrical motion picture. Production is slated to being with the new film is being developed by Nickelodeon Animation Studios and Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures along with Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. Paramount Pictures will handle worldwide distribution of the movie, which does not yet have a release date.

Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls, Connected, Disenchantment) is on board to direct with a script written by Brendan O’Brian (Neighbors, Sorority Rising, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates). Plot details were not shared but Brian Robbins, President of Kids & Family for ViacomCBS, promised a "next-level reinvention of the property."

“Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property. I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.” 

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are considered one of the more popular kids' franchises. Created in 1984, there have been comic books, aniamted and live-action TV shows, and numerous blockbuster movies. Nickelodeon acquired the global rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and in 2012 debuted the CG-animated series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

In 2019, the Heroes in a Half-Shell were reimagined in a 2D-animated series, "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Unrelated to this upcoming film, Nickelodeon and Netflix have partnered to produce an original animated 2D film based on Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
