With the recent reports and rumours surrounding Disney's live-action adaptation of their iconic tale The Little Mermaid, being that Spider-Man: Homecoming actress Zendaya has been offered the lead role, artist BossLogic has taken it upon himself to provide us a glimpse at what such a casting could look like.
Given the actresses history with the studio, starring in multiple Disney Channel shows, as well as her recent role in musical P.T. Barnum-biopic The Greatest Showman, Zendaya seems to fit the role quite nicely. The only notable dissimilarity would be the actresses race, in-comparison to how Ariel is traditionally represented, though the distinction is rather trivial - especially as the fan-art shows that she looks perfect as the titular mermaid regardless of her skin-tone.

Though the poster is a fun visualisation, we know little to nothing on the live-action film itself.
The film, which is yet to set a release date, will be directed by Rob Marshall - who will be debuting another fantasy/musical in December of this year (Mary Poppins Returns). The Little Mermaid will feature songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, songwriter for Moana and Mary Poppins Returns, as well as Alan Menken, songwriter for too many Disney classics too mention (including the original The Little Mermaid).
What do you think of the fan-made poster? Would you like to see Zendaya in the role of Ariel?
