SNOW WHITE First Official Look Features Rachel Zegler's Princess And The Seven... Dwarfs!?

Disney has unveiled the first official promo image for the upcoming live-action Snow White movie, and it certainly doesn't look like Miss White is surrounded by seven "magical creatures."

Disney has announced that it has pushed its upcoming live-action Snow White remake back by almost a full year from March 22, 2024 to March 21, 2025, and we might have a pretty good idea why!

While the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike no doubt played a part in the decision, the prevailing theory is that Disney will use the time to revamp certain aspects of the story after backlash from fans of the classic animated film, and looking at this first official promo image, we wouldn't rule it out!

The still features star Rachel Zegler as the titular Princess surrounded by what look a lot like seven... Dwarfs? They're all significantly bigger than their animated counterparts, but they certainly don't resemble the "magical creatures" that were rumored to be added as Snow White's allies or the "bandits" that were spotted in recent set photos.

The pic really does look like it was thrown together last minute, and if this is what the final versions of the "Dwarfs" are going to look like in the finished film, Disney should probably expect the ridicule to continue!

The main criticisms seem to stem from Zegler admitting that she wasn't a big fan of the original animated movie as a kid (because it scared her), and only watched it all the way through recently. Zegler also pointed out that some aspects of the animated classic haven't really aged very well, noting that certain plot points - including the "stalker Prince" - have been updated for a modern audience.

Snow White is helmed by The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb, and is expected to expand upon the 1937 animated classic's story. The movie will feature new songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land and The Greatest Showman), and will also feature Wonder Woman star Gal Gado as the Evil Queen, and Andrew Burnap as a new character named Jonathan.

The actors for most of the seven... non-dwarfs have not been announced, but we do know that Martin Klebba, who has been in all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, will play Grumpy.

It's also been confirmed that the movie will include a younger take on Snow White, which suggests that we will get some kind of flashback scenes that will expand on the origin of the title character.

This has "straight to VHS" quality from the 90s. I can't even say straight to Disney+ cause even that has better quality.

Wow so after all the hoo-ha about inclusivity and all the rest, they "replaced" the Dwarves with "Bandits" taking away parts from actual dwarves and then have released this???
