Having trouble finding Pokémon 30th Celebration in stock? Disney Lorcana’s next major expansion could give trading card game fans something else to chase.

Releasing in just a few weeks, Hyperia City will bring more music and magic to the popular Disney trading card game. The expansion introduces Miguel, Héctor, and Ernesto de la Cruz from Disney and Pixar’s Coco to Disney Lorcana for the first time.

The expansion takes place in a city where Disney’s familiar faces have found new ways to express themselves. Music spills out onto the streets, artists fill the neighborhoods, and some of Disney’s biggest fictional pop stars are taking the stage. Powerline, Gazelle, and 4*Town are among the performers headlining the city’s stadium, while the characters from Coco bring their own musical traditions to the mix.

Of course, there’s more going on than a citywide music festival. Something suspicious is happening in the back alleys and waterways, and a newly discovered resource called ink drops could be at the center of it.

Ink drops are the expansion’s big gameplay addition. Each one provides a single point of temporary ink that can be spent to play cards or pay for abilities. Once used, it leaves the game. Unlike the extra ink typically associated with Sapphire cards, ink drops can be created by every ink color combination.

"Ink drops can completely change the tempo of a game," explained Lead Game Designer Lukas Litzsinger. “We really wanted to focus in on a single mechanic in this set, and we're excited to see how players will experiment with using them in their decks."

The city setting also gives the artists room to play with familiar characters. Hyperia City’s Enchanted cards capture everything from concert moments to late-night creative projects, while its two Iconic cards feature Mickey Mouse – Best in Town and Cinderella – Unintentional Icon. For fans who enjoy seeing Disney characters reimagined, those could be highlights of the set.

“There is something for everyone to enjoy in Hyperia City,” said Ravensburger Art Director Liz Richards. “From the engaging artwork depicting so many Dreamborn versions of Disney and Pixar characters, to the exciting possibilities of ink drops and how they are used, Hyperia City is a set that will delight Disney fans in multiple ways."

Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City prerelease events begin October 16, with the wider release following October 23. The product lineup includes booster packs, booster boxes, an Illumineer's Trove, prerelease boxes, and a two-player starter set.
