WarnerMedia announced that HBO Max will launch in Latin America this June. The direct-to-consumer streaming platform, which is home to numerous animated series, will arrive in 39 territories across Latin America and the Caribbean. HBO GO will be phased out with existing customers granted instant access to HBO Max.
The full slate of content hasn't been detailed yet, but the announcement video features content spanning WarnerMedia's popular brands, including HBO, DC, and Warner Bros. On the animation front, we see clips of Rick and Morty, The Powerpuff Girls, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, We Bare Bears, Paw Patrol, and Adventure Time: Distant Lands, so we can probably expect these at launch.
WarnerMedia also promises "a new kids experience featuring a deep catalog of content for children of all ages, and a captivating lineup of local original productions from home-grown talent." This will likely include content drawn from the collection of Cartoon Network and Looney Tunes Cartoons.
But HBO Max will also host content from WarnerMedia's wide slate of programming, including some of its adult-oriented animated brands from TNT, TBS, and Adult Swim. This is on top of the Max Originals, original titles exclusive to the platform that showcases local storytellers and talent.
The 39 Latin America territories that HBO Max will come to this June include Anguilla, Antigua, Argentina, Aruba, B.V.I., Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Montserrat, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks and Caicos, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Following the Latin America launch, HBO Max will arrive in Europe (the Nordics, Spain, Central Europe, and Portugal) later this year.
