JJ Villard's Fairy Tales is a new addition to Cartoon Network's mature programming block Adult Swim. The series follows juggernaut Rick and Morty and Vernon Chatman's The Shivering Truth on Sunday nights leading into Monday.
Each episode of Fairy Tales features a star-studded cast voicing twisted takes on classic fairy tale characters and delivers new stories featuring your favorite characters in ways you've never seen them. When we spoke with JJ Villard to promote his new series he had mentioned to us that every episode of the show features multiple subliminal messages so we decided to try and track them all down.
The first episode of Season One is called Boypunzel, and it stars Finn Wolfhard (Stanger Things, It) as the titular tower-bound child. Rather than go into too much depth about the episode itself, this article simply focuses on the hidden messages that we were able to locate in the show.
Don't worry if you didn't catch them all, as they only appear for a split second and are easy to miss. Here are the five I was able to spot in the first episode.
1. Bloody red letters read "It's ok to give up on your dreams".
2. A photo depicting six skeletons carry the witch.
3. Letters reading "Crying session at Pinnochio's house, 8 p.m. Pull up."
4. A photo depicting the witch's head in a box.
5. Bloody red letters reading "You can't change the past, but you can still screw up your future."

JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales is a new, twisted, fun take on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales like Cinderella and Snow White. The charm and cuteness of the original stories remain, but now they've been updated and packaged into a ball of raw, visceral, gross weirdness. The animated quarter hour series is created, and executive produced by JJ Villard (King Star King) and produced by Cartoon Network Studio.
JJ Villard's Fairy Tales airs on Adult Swim on Sunday nights at 12:15 am (Sunday into Monday).
