With the long-awaited sequel to The Incredibles arriving in theatres this month, conversation surrounding the Disney-Pixar fan-favourite is at an all-time high.
Since 2004, back when The Incredibles first released, many have subscribed to the theory/assumption that Jack-Jack's name was in-fact a reference to the Kennedy family - specifically John F. Kennedy Jr. However, director and writer of both Incredibles films, Brad Bird recently refuted this theory - revealing that the name has a much closer personal connection to him.
The fan's tweet queried Bird on whether Jack-Jack was named after JFK Jr. in effort to settle a bet - here's what Bird had to say in response:
Many fans assuming Jack-Jack's name to be in reference to the son of John F. Kennedy is fair considering both films take place in the 1960s. In actuality, it comes from the nickname that Bird and his wife gave their middle child - Jack.
What do you think about the origin of Jack-Jack's name? Did you think it was in reference to JFK Jr.?
