Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, thus far, has won "Best Animated Motion Picture" from both the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards and Producers Guild of America. Rotten Tomatoes, a popular online review-aggregator, recently stated that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was the best-reviewed animated movie of 2018 - with a 97% score on the site.

This level of success was surely unprecedented. Now the film is even up for an Academy Award - within the same category as those afformentioned awards which it has won. One of the key components, which has made Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse the beloved success that it is, is its characters.

The creator of one of these multiversal webslingers recently took to social media to share his reaction to the film being nominated for an Oscar.
Here's what Spider-Gwen co-creator Jason Latour had to say:

"Huge congrats to Spider-Verse directors, producers, animators, cast, crew, EVERYONE for the Oscars nom. But, on behalf of Team Gwanda-- thank you most of all for reaching out so we could bask in this with you. We hope we inspired you 1/100000th as much as you inspire us."

Synopsis: In the "classic Spider-Man mold", Miles Morales must juggle his high school life with his status as a superhero, as he is introduced to the "Spider-Verse" where there can be more than just one Spider-Man.
