Disney's upcoming sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 might include the world's favourite Italian plumber if these rumours are to be believed.

Spotted by Spanish Nintendo-centric news site Nintenderos; the IMDb page for Wreck-It Ralph 2 lists famous voice actor Charles Martinet as part of the cast. Martinet has been the official voice of Mario since 1990, playing the character across a number of fan-favourite titles such as: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Odyssey.

The first Wreck-It Ralph famously included Mario's nemesis Bowser in the villain's reform group and a variety of Mario's signature mushrooms. Other video game legends like Street Fighter's Zangief, the bartender from Root Beer Tapper, and Sonic the Hedgehog had minor parts.

Illumination recently made a deal with Nintendo to bring Mario back to theaters in his own standalone movie, meaning that the rights might be a little more complicated than anticipated, but hopefully the company's will have managed to find a middle-ground similar to Disney and Sony's sharing of the Spider-Man brand.

What do you think? Would you like to see Mario make an appearance in Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2?
