Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has made quite the impression with its recent trailers. Stunning visuals, an intriguing new version of Peter Parker, and who could forget Spider-Gwen dropping in.

Gwen will be joining a gruff Peter Parker and newbie Miles Morales in the animated adventure and now we know who will be voicing the female webslinger. It's none other than, popular singer/actress, Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee, Pitch Perfect).

While we knew that Steinfeld was involved in Sony's latest Spider-Man project, we had no idea who she'd be playing. Steinfeld is perfectly suited for the character what with her musical and vocal talents.

We're sure the film will do a great job of introducing her character but, nevertheless, here's a quick rundown for those unfamiliar; Spider-Gwen is a variant of Spider-Man from an alternate-universe. She resides in what Marvel dubs Earth-65, where Gwen Stacy is bitten by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker.

Steinfeld became a household name due to her starring roles in True Grit and the Pitch Perfect franchise but has also kicked off a successful music career with singles like "Love Myself" and "Let Me Go". She'll also be starring in the upcoming Transformers origin-story: Bumblebee which, similar to Into The Spider-Verse, hits theaters in December of this year.

What do you think of the casting? Are you excited to see Spider-Woman show up in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse?

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
