Disney's upcoming, live-action remake of, their 1994 animated classic, The Lion King will reportedly feature the iconic "Be Prepared" song after all. Find out more...
The upcoming, live-action remake of Disney's 1994 animated classic The Lion King will be bolstering an (almost) all-new cast but its visuals and songs will remain familiar to fans.
Elton John wrote the songs of the original film alongside Tim Rice. John recently told The Sun that the film will feature the return of four classics from the original: ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?’ ‘Hakuna Matata,’ ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King,’ and ‘Circle of Life.’ This statement from John proved shocking to fans, mostly on account of the iconic 'Be Prepared' song being absent.
Thankfully, Skyler Shuler of DisInsider recently took to social media (@Skylerhxc) to reveal that 'Be Prepared' will in-fact feature. “I get this question a lot, but I’ve heard ‘Be Prepared’ will indeed be in The Lion King remake," Shuler tweeted alongside a gif of the musical number in question. This will no doubt come as a relief to fans of the original, however this isn't outright confirmation from Disney, so don't get your hopes up too high.
The animated version of The Lion King featured Jeremy Irons as Scar, whereas the remake will feature Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 12 Years A Slave). I'm sure fans are eagerly awaiting Ejiofor's version of the fan-favourite song.
The Lion King is set to arrive in theatres on July 19th, 2019.
