Dwayne Johnson just can't get enough of the jungle. After starring in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (with a sequel coming out later this year), Johnson is once again set to return to the wild - this time in
Disney's Jungle Cruise.
Inspired by the classic Disneyland attraction,
Disney's Jungle Cruise looks like a fun-filled adventure in which Johnson plays a charismatic riverboat captain who is hired by Emily Blunt's character, a determined explorer in search of tree in the Amazon with unparalleled healing powers, to take her upriver. Of course, getting there will prove to be no easy feat as the trailer teases all sorts of action and adventure.
And there's no shortage of jokes either.
Disney's Jungle Cruise has a light-hearted tone and even borrows some of the corny jokes that make the Disneyland attraction so charming - like the classic "backside of water" line.
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE is an adventure-filled, Amazon-jungle expedition starring Dwayne Johnson as the charismatic riverboat captain and Emily Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission. Also starring in the film are Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.
Disney's Jungle Cruise opens in theaters on July 24, 2020.
