Singer-Songwriter Ariana Grande Seemingly Expresses Interest In HERCULES Live-Action Remake Role

Followers and fans of singer-songwriter Ariana Grande seem to think that she would be the perfect choice to play Megara in a hypothetical (but inevitable) live-action remake of Hercules.

Disney has been pumping out live-action remake after live-action remake for a while now and they've made it clear that the train isn't stopping any time soon. Live-action remakes of both The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan are in the works.

Not to mention, a live-action remake of Lilo and Stitch which is destined for Disney+ as well as a remake of Robin Hood which was just announced the other day and is similarly headed for the streaming service. Need I go on? Probably not but there's also Cruella, Pinocchio, Bambi, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Sword in the Stone, and many more.

The point is, they're exhausting their back catalogue. Which means a live-action remake of 1997 animated fantasy musical Hercules is bound to happen eventually. Gotham star Cameron Monaghan has previously made it known that he would be interested in starring in a live-action remake of Hercules as you can see here — but he's not the only one.

Recently, intensely popular American singer-songwriter Ariana Grande threw her hat into the ring — or rather her weave. Grande took to social media (Twitter: @ArianaGrande) with a pair of monochrome images, which each feature the character of Megara from Hercules. There's no context beyond that.

She may well have simply shared these images for no apparent reason but her followers and fans certainly seem to think that she would be a great choice to play Megara in live-action. It is a musical, after all, and Grande is one of the most popular singers in the world at the moment.

There are also, of course, visual similarities which replies to her tweet have been quick to point out. Fittingly, the singer recorded a cover of the song "Zero to Hero" from Hercules for the "We Love Disney" compilation album back in 2015 — you can check that out below.
