Disney is putting a Mickey Mouse spin on Home Alone this Thanksgiving. The new animated special, Mickey’s Home Alone, premieres November 26 on Disney Jr. and heads to Disney+ the following day. The first trailer is already out, offering a look at what happens when Mickey and Pluto are left to fend for themselves over Christmas.

Mickey is looking forward to spending the holiday at home when Minnie surprises him and the gang with tickets to a world-famous Ice Palace. In a setup similar to the beloved holiday comedy classic, everyone is in such a hurry to get out the door the next morning that Mickey and Pluto get left behind. It’s a pretty good setup for an “I made my family disappear” moment, even if all Mickey did was stay put.

Mickey gets the Christmas at home he wanted, at least until a raccoon and a weasel show up looking to help themselves to dinner. The two would-be dinner thieves give Mickey a reason to defend his house, though the most valuable thing in it might be whatever’s in the oven.

Mickey has Pluto to keep him company, which should come in handy once the intruders arrive. Then again, a dog might have his own ideas about what it means to guard Christmas dinner.

Wild Canary produced the special in association with Disney Jr. Shane Prigmore directed, with Tom Rogers serving as executive producer and Rachel Ruderman as co-executive producer. Tony Morales composed the score. A three-track EP is also available on digital music platforms. It features two original songs by Keith Harrison Dworkin, “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favorite Christmas Feeling,” along with a new arrangement of “Jingle Bells.”

The special will also screen throughout the day on Saturday, December 5, at the Paley Center for Media’s annual Paleyland event in New York City. The holiday lineup includes the stop-motion special A Proud Family Wizmas and two Bluey Christmas episodes, “Veranda Santa” and “Christmas Swim.” The event will also feature holiday episodes of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends and Marvel’s Iron Man and His Awesome Friends, plus themed crafts and activities.

Mickey’s Home Alone premieres Thursday, November 26, at 6 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Jr. and starts streaming Friday, November 27, on Disney+. It will also air on Disney Channel on November 30 at 7 p.m. ET/PT and on Freeform on December 19 at 2 p.m. ET/PT as part of 25 Days of Christmas.
