Last month, it was revealed in a report that the creators of the iconic cartoon series by the name of X-Men: The Animated Series are planning to approach Disney in hopes of bringing the show back to life. The popular series ran throughout the 1990s and was brought to an end in 1997.

Joaquim Dos Santos recently posted some awesome pieces of artwork to his Twitter, seemingly putting himself forward to work on the afformentioned revival. Dos Santos is known for his work on The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender. Additionally, he'll be at the helm of the upcoming sequel to, the Academy Award-winning animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The artwork featured the two characters of Forge and Jubilee from the animated series, the former making use of a sniper rifle as the latter looks on.“Forge takes aim, Jubilee looks on in shock," read Dos Santos' tweet (@JDS_247).

As evidenced by his prior works, Dos Santos would be more than qualified to tackle an animated X-Men series - be it the hopeful revival of the 90s one or not.
