One of the pleasant surprises about Wonder Woman 1984 was a cameo appearance by actress Lynda Carter, who had, of course, portrayed the Amazon Princess in the 1970s television series. While Gal Gadot has successfully taken over the role, no one involved has made any effort whatsoever to make the audience forget Carter's legacy with the role. In fact, the studio has brilliantly cut together what is best described as new opening credits for the film — which was designed exclusively for on-line purposes.
What they've done is take the approach of the credits for the Carter series, having the iconic theme song playing in the background while the editing is handled in such a way as to suggest the show. In fact, one of the really nice touches — and the reason the video is being featured here at Toonado — is that they even took on the concept of first showing the characters in animated form as though in a comic book, and then stepping out of the frame, so to speak, as they transition to live action. We get to see Gadot as Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord and Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minera. Definitely a lot of fun.
