STAR WARS REBELS Voice Actor Freddie Prinze Jr On Recording Kanan Jarrus' Lines In THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

Did Freddie Prinze Jr. actually don a costume and special effects to portray Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?  There was a rumor swirling around the film following its release that J.J. Abrams originally planned for all the dismebodied, deceased Jedi voices that spoke to Rey during her climactic showdown with Palpatine were originally slated to appear as Force Ghosts behind Rey.  In a recent interview with IGN, Prinze reveals that the rumor is false.

After getting over the shock that he was actually going to record lines for the film, Prinze detailed the process of how everything actually came together.  "[Director] JJ [Abrams] came in and kind of broke down the scene, and what was happening, and what was going on with Rey and what she was needing from the Jedi at that point, because the Force provides you with what you need - not the Jedi per se, it's the Force kind of dictating that."

Prinze went on to add that he never actually went to the set or filmed anything with any of the actors in Episode IX.
