SCOOBY-DOO: Shaggy Voice Actor Responds To Petition For The Character To Feature In MORTAL KOMBAT 11
A popular petition to get Shaggy, of Scooby Doo, added to the roster of Mortal Kombat 11 has caught the attention of Matthew Lillard (the character's voice actor) himself.
A popular meme that's been doing the rounds for a little while now regards Shaggy Rogers - the character from the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated series Scooby-Doo. "Ultra Instinct Shaggy" features the member of Mystery Inc. powered-up in a similar manner to that of Goku from the popular Dragon Ball anime.
This amusing premise sees Shaggy become all-powerful and, given its spawning around the time of Mortal Kombat 11 hype, someone had the bright idea to collide the two together and created a Change.org petition to get the fan-favourite character added to the game's roster of powerful playable-characters. In the short span of time that the petition has been up, it has amassed over 300,000 signatures.
Mortal Kombat 11's Creative Director, Ed Boon, has responded to this ridiculous petition on multiple occasions - most recently sharing some impressive, fan-made concept art in which Shaggy takes on Scorpion.
Matthew Lillard, who is known for playing Shaggy in live-action as well as in the cartoons, recently responded to a similar piece of fan-art (via his Twitter @MatthewLillard) which sees the Ultra Instinct variant of Shaggy alongside Scoobs himself.
The petition's owners also responded to its impressive surge in popularity with a message of gratitude. You can check that out below, or on the page itself (don't forget to sign it whilst you're there).
On behalf of Woken News Network, we would to thank you for your tremendous support. We've made international headlines, got recognized by the legendary Mr. Boon and Lillard, but have also been receiving so many awesome e-mails from you guys as well. Keep up the amazing work, you rock!
Mortal Kombat 11 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the 23rd of April in 2019.
