This past week, Netflix released a special sing-along version of KPop Demon Hunters in theaters, giving fans a chance to celebrate its incredibly catchy soundtrack and sing their hearts out among hundreds of other passionate fans. But for those who missed the limited-screening event, which ran in theaters for just two days on August 23 and August 24, you'll have another chance to belt your favorite songs as loud as you possibly can.

No, KPop Demon Hunters is not returning to theaters. Rather, KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along is now streaming on Netflix.

The sing-along version of the film is exactly the same as what's been streaming on Netflix, only now the songs are accompanied by lyrics, making it easier to follow along with the words on the screen.

It's reported that KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along brought in anywhere from $16 million to $20 million during its domestic run, but for Netflix it was probably never about the cash. The company has long used theatrical releases to help promote the streaming service, and despite the hype surrounding KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along, it's unlikely to sway Netflix into moving towards a traditional box office release format.

“It absolutely does not change anything,” said industry analyst David Poland, via CNBC. “It’s all about events for Netflix.”

And for Netflix, KPop Demon Hunters is now its second-most-watched English-language movie of all time, trailing only 2021's Red Notice. As of this writing, KPop Demon Hunters has racked up 210.5 million views globally, just 20 million shy of Red Notice's record. At this rate, it's not a matter of if, but when KPop Demon Hunters takes the top spot.

When K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey aren’t selling out stadiums, they’re using their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from ever-present supernatural danger. Together, they must face their biggest threat — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.

KPop Demon Hunters was produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse). The film's unexpected success has led to Netflix already beginning to explore sequels and possibly even a live-action adaptation as it seeks to turn KPop Demon Hunters into the next big franchise that could rival the likes of Disney's Frozen. There's been no official sequel announcement yet, it feels like it's only a matter of time now.
