Fans waiting patiently for the second season of
Castlevania to drop may finally get an actual premiere date soon. Powerhouse Animation, the studio who helped bring the animated adaptation to Netflix, teased a "big" announcement will be coming later this week - presumably on the show's one year anniversary on July 7 or even possibly before then at Anime Expo.
July 7 falls right in the middle of Anime Expo next week, but it's possible any sort of announcement for season two could be made before then.
Netflix is hosting an Anime panel on Thursday, July 5 which promises a first look at the second season of
Castlevania. It's not unreasonable to think the first look will conclude with a release date.
Castlevania was
originally expected to return to Netflix for its sophomore season this summer, but last month series writer Warren Ellis told fans
it's coming "later this year." When it does return, season two will consist of eight episodes, double the episode count of the first season.
