One-Punch Man is one of the most beloved anime series. Despite its shortcomings, especially with the second season, fans are eagerly awaiting the show's return.
And the wait won't be much longer.
After months of speculation, it has finally been confirmed that One-Punch Man Season 3 will premiere this October. The release window was shared alongside a new promo video and key visual that unite's many of the show's heroes.
The One-Punch Man anime is an adaptation of the Japanese superhero manga series created by One. It follows the story of Saitama, an independent superhero capable of defeating any opponent with just a single punch. Bored from the lack of challenge, Saitama sets out to find powerful opponents.
VIZ Media, which publishes the series in English, describes the story: "Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?"
One-Punch Man Season 3 is being animated by J.C. Staff, the same studio that produced Season 2. Aside from the initial Special Announcement video shared last year and a batch of character illustrations, not much has been revealed about Season 3. There's hope that will change soon though as it's been reported that the trailer for One-Punch Man Season 3 will be shown at AnimeJapan 2025 later this month. The annual anime convention runs from March 22 to March 23.
Saitama is a hero who only became a hero for fun.
After three years of "special training," hes become so strong that he's practically invincible. In fact, he's too strong—even his mightiest opponents are taken out with a single punch. Alongside Genos, his faithful disciple, Saitama performs his official hero duties as a member of the Hero Association.
One day, monsters claiming to be from the Monster Association suddenly appeared, taking a child of Hero Association executive as a hostage. The S-class heroes gather and plan a raid on the Monster Association hideout to rescue the hostage. Meanwhile, Garou, a "human monster" who was taken by the Monster Association during a battle with the heroes, awakens in the Monster Association hideout.
If a trailer does end up being shown at AnimeJapan later this month, there's a chance we could get a more specific premiere date for Season 3.
