With the launch of Paramount+ today, Nickelodeon fans can now enjoy Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years. The CG-animated prequel series is the first-ever SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff and follows the adventures of 10-year-old SpongeBob and his pals as they attend summer sleepaway camp.
Many of the original voice actors have returned to reprise their roles including Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton). the series also introduces a few new characters, such as Nobby and Narlene, narwhal siblings who live in the woods surrounded by the camp. Nobby is voiced by Carlos Alazraqui (The Casagrandes) while Narlene is voiced by Kate Higgins (Blaze and the Monster Machines)
Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years was greenlit with an initial 13-episode order. The first six are currently available on Paramount+ with the remaining seven in Season 1 presumably airing shortly after launch. Prior to Kamp Koral's premiere, Nickelodeon ordered an additional 13 episodes, bringing the total to 26.
Go back in time and meet a 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants, as he and his pals build underwater campfires, catch wild jellyfish and swim in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral.
Although Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years is premiering on Paramount+, the series is also slated to air on Nickelodeon as well later this year.
Debuting alongside Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years on Paramount+ is The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. SpongeBob's first-ever all-CGI film follows the titular character along with his best friend Patrick as the set off on a mission to save SpongeBob's beloved pet snail, Gary, from King Poseidon in the Lost City of Atlantic City.
