This Veteran's Day, the world of animation and live-action are coming together for one of a kind of limited series experience titled, The Liberator. Based on the book The Liberator: One World War II Soldier’s 500-Day Odyssey by Alex Kershaw, the series will follow the journey of the 157th regiment in World War II.
What makes this mini-series stand out is the use of a new patent-pending technology called Trioscope Enhanced Hybrid Animation, which melds both animation and live performances into one seamless picture. The goal of the technology is to bring out the emotions during the performances even more so than if both styles were separate. It also inadvertently gives a much older tone and look to the show that is fitting as it is set in the 1940s.
A new trailer has been released that puts the new technology into effect and gives a look at what viewers will be in store for as they watch. The series's intensity and gravity are conveyed perfectly in the trailer, and looks to be an exciting watch!
The new show will only be four parts but looks to do the novel it is based on justice. We would love to hear your thoughts n the new show and trailer in the comments below!
The Liberator tells the riveting true story of the bloodiest and most dramatic march to victory of the Second World War: the battlefield odyssey of maverick U.S. Army officer Felix Sparks (played by Bradley James) and his infantry unit as they fought for over five hundred days to liberate Europe.
The Liberator premieres on Netflix on Veteran's Day, November 11th!
