Everyone has had their favorite toy; it could have been a Raggedy Ann doll or a plush Mickey Mouse, but at the end of the day, everyone had something that they held dear. But sadly, when those cherished things become lost, life feels a lot more cold and difficult because, for many children, that could be the first time that they felt truly alone.
Lost Ollie is a new Netflix live-action/ animated series that is based on Brandon Oldenburg and William Joyce's Ollie's Odyssey story. The series will follow a stuffed animal that will stop at nothing to return to his owner.
Being in development for four years, the series has finally found its director in Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse) who is no stranger to adapting Joyce's works (previously directing Rise of the Guardians). Since Ramsey knows a thing or two about the importance of friendship and childhood, Lost Ollie is shaping up to be a very heartfelt series.
A test photo of Ollie has recently been released, showing just how adorable the hero of the story will be. We would love to hear your thoughts on the announcement and photo in the comments below and to hear more about Peter's journey, check out Literary Joe's Inner child Podcast where we talk with him about his past projects!
Lost Ollie is the story of a lost toy, searching across the countryside for the boy who lost him, and the story of the boy who lost more than a best friend. An epic adventure to reunite in the face of all the dangers that childhood can throw at them.
Lost Ollie is coming soon to Netflix!
