Netflix has been doing a pretty great job producing live-action series based on video game properties, like the critically acclaimed The Witcher — although this was first a book and then a video game, but the point still stands — and the also critically acclaimed Castlevania series.
The streamer has proved time and time again that they can produce top quality series based on video game franchises in both live-action and animated formats, which is fantastic considering that the latest project will seemingly be making use of both.
That's right, Netflix has announced that they have partnered up with Ubisoft in order to producer a live-action/animated hybrid film based on the popular Beyond Good and Evil series of video games, although much information hasn't been shared given that the project is still in early stages of development.
Netflix did confirm that the recently announced Beyond Good and Evil movie will be produced for Ubisoft Film & Television by Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin, and that the film will be directed by Detective Pikachu and Goosebumps Director Rob Lettermann.
This Beyond Good and Evil live-action/animated hybrid film still doesn't have a writer attached to it, but at least fans can rest assured that the project is in good hands.
