Warner Bros. hilariously
trolled Pokemon fans today by releasing the
Detective Pikachu movie online today - only the video published to YouTube wasn't actually the full movie, but rather a two-hour video of the adorable Pokemon dancing.
The latest marketing effort is a last minute push ahead of the film's release in theaters this Friday. Star Ryan Reynolds, who voices the titular wise-cracing super-sleuth, was the one who drew attention to the "leak," retweeting the initial post from "Inspector Pikachu."
While it's not the full movie, the uploaded video does at least feature what looks like the beginning of the film. However, it then cuts to a lengthy video of Pikachu dancing up a storm.
Thankfully, the wait for
Detective Pikachu isn't too much longer. The first ever-live action
Pokemon movie arrives in theaters on May 10. Reviews for the highly anticipated movie have been pretty impressive, with
Detective Pikachu currently sitting at a
71% on Rotten Tomatoes.
