Universal has debuted a first look at its upcoming Bobbleheads: The Movie, based on (you guessed it), everyone's favorite MLB stadium giveaway, bobbleheads. The film is slated for release on digital, DVD and On Demand on December 8. It's also slated to stream on Netflix at a later, undisclosed date.
Karen Fukuhara voices a Buzz Lightyear-esque space explorer bobblehead named Ikioi, complete with fake blaster, while Brenda Song portrays the skateboarding bobblehead named Kehlani and Julian Sands voices a cat bobblehead named Purrbles. Khary Payton voices a baseball player bobblehead named Deuce that actually has high value.
The film sees four bobbleheads come-to-life à la Toy Story and pits the foursome against home invaders played by Luke Wilson and Jennifer Coolidge. It seems the human pair are out to steal the homeowner's newest bobblehead addition which is a collector's item. Cher also voices a bobblehead that bares her likeness and provides words of wisdom to the four main stars.
In this film-scarce, pandemic environment, one has to wonder if this film was originally slated for a theatrical release.
Get ready for a big shake-up when misfit bobbleheads take on trashy humans and a slobbery dog who crash their home with plans to swap a new baseball player bobblehead for a valuable one of them. With some guidance from Cher, they find the courage to bobble-up for an outrageous battle of wits and wobble. Prepare to laugh and bounce along with a family of misfit bobbleheads who must defend their home and themselves from scheming humans in the brand-new hilarious and heart-warming animated action-comedy, BOBBLEHEADS: THE MOVIE, premiering exclusively on Digital, DVD, and On-Demand on December 8, 2020, and streaming soon on Netflix from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
