The wait is almost over, as fans of the Pocket Monster series will finally be able to watch the very first live-action
Pokémon film when
Detective Pikachu finally hits theaters this
Friday the 10th of May.
As we draw closer to the movie's release date, Ryan Reynolds has been having a lot of interviews lately; all of which have given us some very interesting details about the movie itself, as well as his experience playing the beloved Pikachu.
In a recent interview with Comicbook,
Detective Pikachu voice actor Ryan Reynolds gave away some details about the voice-recording process and how he also did the character's motion capture, in order to, well, also capture his mannerisms and overall performance.
"
It's motion capture, so it's all imagination. You go into a room. I'm alone, basically. I have tracking dots all over my body," revealed Reynolds during the interview, adding that then "
it's just throwing 800 versions of any joke or any moment up against a wall and leaving it to some poor editor to, sort of, sort through and figure out."
When it came to recording the lines, he's also admitted that some lines were a bit more edgy than others; getting to the point of even recordign some very PG-13 lines that borderlined rated R lines.
"
You know, somethings would come out. Probably a little PG-13 bordering on rated R. The great thing about this role is that you can be totally edgy, and totally push it, and still stay within the boundaries of a movie that you can take little kids to, and adults."
