It's still unclear how long theaters and other public spaces will be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but after postponing the release of several projects over the course of the past month or so, Disney has set new release dates for many of the biggest movies on their film slate.
As a result of this massive reshuffling, their live-action Mulan film, which was originally on track to premiere in March, is now scheduled to premiere on July 24, four months later. This new release date is just one of many changes made by the studio, as Disney was also forced to shift their entire slate of Marvel films and move Jungle Cruise to the summer of 2021.
While this means the remake of the animated 1998 film won't be with us for at least another three months, there is still a lot of uncertainty over how long this pandemic will continue to affect daily lives around the globe, so it's possible we may continue to see Disney shift their schedule.
Directed by Niki Caro (The Zookeeper's Wife), Mulan stars Liu Yifei as Mulan, Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee as Bori Khan, Yoson An as Chen Honghui, Gong Li as Xian Lang, and Jet Li as The Emperor of China
