Animaccord is working on bringing Marsha and The Bear to the big screen as they've announced a feature film in the works. Alongside the feature film, the media and licensing company also revealed its intention to produce more content for its core show, podcasts, tech-driven content, and content for social media.
All this new-found content will be dispursed across the next few years as this content map is for up until 2025. The cartoon series that spawned the franchise is available and streaming in most parts of the world in 43 different languages. It's also in the top three favorite entertainment brand in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, according to Kidz Global. It also boasts about four billion views on YouTube for a single episode of its series.
Their plan with the expansion is to build upon its appeal and revamping former fans or parents' interest, as the series has reportedly fallen victim faltering to keep up with their demographic. They also hope expanding into feature length territory could lead to new characters and more complex stories to be told. The current seven-minute format works for the pre-school age audience they target, but they appear to want to bolster their audience to more than just that.
That being said, Animaccord CEO Claus Tomming says they're commited to Marsha and The Bear and is adement they are going to keep to the franchise's core values in line and remain true to Oleg Kuzovkov's vision for the series, a series based on a young girl he met.
