Abominable arrived in theatres on Friday. It's DreamWorks Animation's newest animated feature film — and had quite the successful opening weekend at the box office. Also arriving in theatres alongside Abominable is an new short film from DreamWorks by the name of Marooned.

Marooned premiered at the Annecy International Film Festival back in June and is reportedly preceding Abominable in Los Angeles and New York theatres. The animated short is one of science-fiction and is directed by DWA story artist Andrew Erekson (How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World). Jeff Hermann produced Marooned, it was edited by James Ryan and features musical compositions by Amie Doherty.

The short is an animated and stylised look at the not too distant future and follows a selfish robot name C-0R13. They're stranded in an abandoned outpost on the Moon, longing to return to Earth. C-0R13 is building a ship home and is on his last charge. They accidentally come across another robot by the name of A-L1C1A. C-0R13 is tested and taught what it truly means to be selfless.

Below you can check out a poster for Marooned (via Animation Magazine) and above you can see a still which features A-L1C1A on the left and C-0R13 on the right.
