Chris McKay, who directed The LEGO Batman Movie, recently took to social media to confirm that he's working on a sequel.
A fan praised the first film before putting the question to McKay on Twitter wherein the director flat-out stated that he's working on it right now - as well as plugging The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part which also features the LEGO-ified Dark Knight.
Check out McKay's tweet below:
Though there's no other information, like a release date, McKay's tweet serves as the first confirmation that a sequel is indeed happening. However, it should have been expected given the Box Office haul the previous instalment brought in.
Also, it's highly unlikely that McKay will be the only crew member returning; expect the likes of Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and Ralph Fiennes to return as Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Alfred respectively.
What do you think of McKay's confirmation? Are you looking forward to The LEGO Batman Movie 2?
The LEGO Batman Movie 2 doesn't currently have a set release date.
