2019 Is Already Disney's Best Year At The Box Office (And We're Only Halfway Through It)

Though we're only in July, with four of their films have already topped $1 billion at the box office, Disney has already made more money this year than they have ever before.

Disney has released quite a few major movies this year and they've pretty much all proven to be immense successes at the box office. We're only halfway through 2019 and it has already proven to be Disney's most profitable (via Comicbook.com).

Previously, 2016 was Disney's best year at the box office — with them having made a total of $7.61 billion. However, as of this week, that title belongs to the current year. Thus far, Disney has made $7.67 billion at the worldwide box office.

This amount is taking into account the likes of Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. What seperates those four films from the rest is that each of those has made over $1 billion at the box office. There's also Toy Story 4 and The Lion King to take into account — they currently sit at $351 million and $396 million respectively.

The Lion King has only been in theatres for ten days but has already become a massive financial success. It's believed that the live-action remake will also top $1 billion. The only relative dud of Disney's this year would be Dumbo — which made $352.9 million overall. Another notable thing to mention is that; Avengers: Endgame actually made almost $3 billion at the box office and became the highest grossing movie of all time.

With Frozen 2, Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker, and many more upcoming films still to release this year; Disney's total amount for 2019 will surely be mindblowing.
